The Vishnupad Temple is situated on the banks of the sacred Falgu River in Gaya, Bihar. The temple features a 40-cm-long footprint of Lord Vishnu, known as Dharmasila, imprinted on solid basalt rock. The current grand stone structure was rebuilt in 1787 by Rani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore, who brought master artisans from Rajasthan. The temple is highly revered by pilgrims from all over the world, especially during the Pitrapaksha Mela, for rituals dedicated to ancestors.
